1. THOMAS1 PERKINS was born 1762 in Maryland, and died August 18, 1837 in Bennington Township Licking Co Ohio. He married MARY TRIGG March 08, 1783 in Gerrardstown Berkly Co Virginia, daughter of THOMAS TRIGG. She was born 1756 in Virginia, and died June 1850 in Licking Co Ohio.

HOMAS PERKINS:
Thomas Perkins enlisted at Whinchester Virginia Oct 1781 he was a private in Browns regiment Captain Bohamans Company 25.00 pension was paid per anum to Mary his wife. Pension record Book E Vol 8 page National Archives Washington D C. he left the service 4 March 1782 served 6 months in the artillery National Archives Washington DC Pension Papers # 5516 March 4 1831 filed from Bennington Township Licking county Ohio.

He came to Ohio in the year 1818 where his wife Mary recieved a pension for his service in the WAR OF THE REVOLUTION According to the act of 1832 .

remarks Soldier married in Gerrardstown, Berkly Couty Virginia March 8 1785 to Mary Trigg, she was allowed pension on an application executed Sept 28 1838 while a resident of Licking County Ohio aged 82years there were eight children no names stated other than a son Westley aged 33 years in 1839

note: the area of Milford Twp Knox Co and the Bennington Twp Licking county line is seperated at the cross road of Lock, the villege is in both townships and the Milford township house still stands right on the line. some of these Perkins families were members of the Milford Church of Christ formerly Simmons Church
located just north of Lock in Milford Twp Knox Co Ohio. there is a good listing of Perkins in the old records of this church, Still active with a new building in the year 2000 still going strong. and if you are researching any of these families I might suggest that you make a visit to this Church and go take a look at the old records they published a Sesquicentennial Celebration book called through the years in 1990 contact Neil Moreland minister there. he is very helpful.

STATE OF OHIO LICKING COUNTY
On this second Day of August in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and thirty three ( 1833) personally appeared before me Samuel Brancroft one of the Judges of the court of Common Pleas for said county, Thomas Perkins a resident of Bennington Township in the County of Licking and State of Ohio , aged Seventy One years, who being first duly sworn according to law doth on his oath make the following declaration in order to obtain the benefit of the provisin made by the act of congress passed June 7th 1832 That he enlisted in the army of the United States in the month of October in the year 1781
with Captain Buchannan and served in the number of the regiment recolled, contennial line under the following named officers to wit General Mullinburg, Col. Brown and Capt Bohannan and left the service about the first of May 1782 having served six months. Resided when he entered the service in the town of Winchester Virginia where he enlisted into a company of Artillary and marched from Winchester to ALbermarle Barrack and gaurded prisoners back to Winchester, where he continued in the service at the Barrachs until he was discharged. He also states that he was born in the state of Maryland in the year of 1762 swearing to the account he recieved from his parents and that he has now no record of his age he also states tha he never recored a written Discharge he further states that he is known in his present neighborhood to Samuel Rose, Boyant Thronhill and James Houk who can testify as to his characther for varocity and their belief of his services as a soldier of the Revolution He also states that he has no written testimony and knows of no person at present whose testimony he can procure who can testify to his service. He herby relinqueshes
every clain whatever to pension as an annuity except the present and he declares that his name is not on the pension Roll of any agency in any State.

Be it known that Samuel Trigg of said County Of Licking aged over Sixty years (, exact age not known personally appeared before me the subscriber a Notary Public i an for said County and being first duly sworn according to the law doth on his oath depose and sa that he is the brother of the applicant said Mary Perkins , that he was at the wedding of said Mary Perkins to said Thomas Perkins and although he cannot recollect the exsact time yet he thinks it cannot vary much if any from the time she so states, he is sure it was after the Revolutionary War and before the year 1794 they had a large family and that she has never since been married \

THE STATE OF OHIO LICKING COUNTY
Michael Fry of Franklin Township Licking county and state of Ohio age about sixty four years. Personally appeared before the subscriber a Notary Public in and for said county and being duly sworn deposes and says that he has been acquainted with Thomas Perkins, deceased late a pensioner of the United States and with Mary Perkins widow of said Thomas Perkins (who is now applying for a pension) ever since about the close of the Revolutionary War that he lived in the neighborhood with them in Berkley County Virginia for about twenty years after the close of the War, That he knew by report that they were married soon after said War. that he knew eight of their children and that he has know them ever since, That he was acquainted with the Rev Mr. Jerret who married them and he is very confident that they were lawfully married on or near the month of March in seventeen hundred and eighty three as she states some time after my brother married her sister, signed Micheal X Fry his mark
