I took an early retirement (March 1996)from the Government, I last worked for Railroad Retirement Board which is like Social Security, I handled retirement, survivor, and disability applications for RR workers and their families. Prior to this I worked for a large Insurance congolmerate as an Executive Assistant in the Marketing Dept. After taking a separation from the government in 1996 I ran a homebased sewing business and worked parttime for a Bridal Shop for a couple of years.
I was born August 4, 1943 in El Paso, Texas, moved to MO in 1951 went to school there, ran away form home at age 15, finished HS in Denver Colorado 1961, Met and married William Kovacs there. He was a Hungarian Refugee who escaped during the revolution in 1956. He was a musician. I worked for Continental Oil Co. CONOCO in the Exploration Dept. while living there. Moved back to Missouri about 1969, we had two children Laura Michelle Kovacs 10/1/71 and William Michael Kovacs 7/25/74. We divorced in 1979, I remarried Perry Van Rogers b. 7/22/30 on December 18, 1981. He has been in production all of his life and is VP of Engineered Pkg. Co., a small mfg. Co.
I graduated Cum Laude from Southwest Missouri State University in 1991 majoring in Psychology and minor in Finance. My husband had 5 children by two previous marriages so we have 9 children and 1 Great Granddaughter there. My daughter, Laura is married to Todd Wilson and is in accounting, my son Michael works with my husband.
