Susan Amanda Rector Sagaser was the wife of Charles Henry Sagaser. She was born on December 8, 1872, the daughter of Dicy Angeline Reed and Alexander Rector. Her father was famous for discovering the first coal in Macon County, Missouri. She died in Bevier, Missouri, on June 20, 1964, at the age of 91. The Sagaser children in this photograph are left to right: Treva Ann Sagaser Dawdy, Mona Estella Sagaser Davis, Finis Martin Sagaser, Mary Ethyl Sagaser Eggleston, and Susan Edith Sagaser Umidon. This picture was taken at the Sagaser home, corner of Short and Bloomington Streets, Bevier, Missouri. Ora Jane Sagaser Parrish, daughter of John "Martin" Sagaser and Lavina Jane Posey Sagaser, was born August 1, 1881, in Bloomington, Macon County, Missouri. She married Rev. Ansolum McCollough (Mack) Parrish on January 9, 1897, in Macon County, Missouri. Their children were Jennie Florence Parrish Burk, William Paul Parrish, John Martin Parrish, Raymond and Rowland Parrish, who were twins, and died at about age 2. Ora Jane Sagaser Parrish died on March 4, 1911 in Macon County, Missouri.

Mary Ann Sagaser was the eldest daughter of John "Martin" Sagaser and Lavina Jane Posey Sagaser. She was born in Bloomington, Macon County, Missouri, on May 13, 1874. She married Jacob "Jake" Fisher in 1890. Also, in this photo are their three children who are standing in chronological order: Ernest "Lee" Fisher, Herman Still Fisher, and Martin Fisher. Mary Ann Sagaser Fisher died on September 19, 1905, in Bloomington, Missouri.

John "Jacob" Sagaser was born on May 6, 1817, in Switzerland but of German descent. He married Elizabeth Slater in Pennsylvania and after the Civil War, they came to Macon County, Missouri, the Bloomington area, with 13 of their 14 children. He and his second wife went to California where several of his sons had moved. John "Jacob" Sagaser and Lucille had 6 children. He died in Macon County, Missouri, on March 10, 1890.

Elizabeth Slater was the daughter of Henry Slater and Susan Ann Dunbar. She was born in 1823 in Butler County, Pennsylvania, and died in 1879 in Macon County, Missouri. She was the first wife of John "Jacob" Sagaser. Her grandfather, John Slator (aka Schlehdorn, Jean Schletor) was in the Revolutionary War and present at the framing and signing of the U.S. Constitution.

John "Martin" Sagaser was the second child and eldest son of John "Jacob" Sagaser and Elizabeth Slater Sagaser. He was born on January 8, 1844, in Pennsylvania and died on September 2, 1889, in Bloomington, Macon County, Missouri. He was married on September 16, 1869, in Macon County, Missouri, to Lavina Jane Posey, who was born on August 30, 1845, in Casey County, Kentucky, the daughter of Green Harrison Posey and Emily Jane Vandiver. She died in Bevier, Missouri, at the home of her son, Charles Henry Sagaser, on June 20, 1918.

Charles Henry Sagaser was the son of John "Martin" Sagaser and Lavina Jane Posey Sagaser. He was born in Bloomington, Macon County, Missouri, on August 23, 1872, and died in Bevier, Macon County, Missouri, on September 6, 1937. He was married to Susan Amanda Rector on March 21, 1891, in Bevier, Missouri. They had 6 children, one who died in infancy. The baby in the picture is Edy, their youngest child.
