The Rolla Family Home Page

My family originated in Norway, on a farm named Rolla located in Hedmark, on the eastern side of the country bordering the Sweden, in a little town named Hof, across the river from Flisa. It is situated in the wooded hills to the west of the Glomma river.

It is fun to gather the sticks of information that go to make the Rolla family tree. It is continually evolving as more information becomes available.

When my great grandfather arrived in the USA with his little family his name was Oluf Christiansen however he added Rolla, the name of the farm where he was born. I have been collecting family history since 1945 when my mother, Evelyn (nee Anderson) wrote the names of our families on a piece of paper.

My brother and I visited the Rolla farm in Norway in 1985. It was one of the most thrilling events to ever happen to me. I stood in the churchyard and viewed the gravestones of my Rolla ancestors.
