Deed: Alexander Powell to Nancy Bryan

For the love and affection I entertain from my daughter Nancy M. Bryan I do
hereby give grant and convey to her the said Nancy M. Bryan the following slave
Vez, Jane a girl in her seventh year. The above described negro is estimated to be
worth four hundred dollars and the said Nancy M. Bryan acknowledges the receipt of 
of that sum as an advancement from me to her towards her interest in my estate. I
warrant said negro to be sound healthy and senseable and a slave for life and also
warrant and defend the title to the same to said Nancy M. Bryan her heirs and assigns
