George Norman (son of Thomas James Norman and Lucreitia Clay) was born August 18, 1838, and died date unknown.

George was killed in the Civil War Battle of Champion Hill or Bakers Creek Mississippi. He was in the Missouri State Guard Company D Regiment. Infantry 8th or 16th. May 1863 at Bakers Creek or Champion Hill Mississippi. He engaged in battles at Wilson Creek, Lexinton, Elk Town, Farmington, Inka, Fort Gibson and killed at Champion Hill. (Information from Leslie Anders, Professor Emeritus of History, Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg MO 64093-5060, /tge NSG members swore into the Confederate Army as DES Arc, Arkansas in March of 1862 and the heavy majority of those swearing in never saw their Missouri Homes again. He died May 16, 1863.
