Find Family

Thank you to all of the people that made the Reunion such a success. I'm sure that I speak for everyone when I say that I will treasure my memories from that weekend for many years to come. Check out the new Home Page that contains more information and pictures of the family. This web site documents the Rørdam family history. The Rørdam family is one of the oldest and most important ecclesiastical families in Denmark. The Rørdams have been traced back to Frants Matsen who in 1584 participated as a Vicar of Stovby and Hornum, Denmark in the crowning of Prins Christian at Viborg. In Holger Nielsen Rørdam was the first to adopt the Rørdam name. He was born March 6,1700 in Rørby , Holbaek,Denmark. Holger and Vita's son Christian Bolle Rørdam brought the family to Norway in the late 1700's where many descendants live to this day. We are happy to say that we have recently connected with are distant relatives in Norway and look forward to getting to know them all. In 1878 Ragnvald Bering Rørdam emigrated to the United States and settled in New Orleans, LA. His decendants, of which I am one, have settled all over the United Stated from Maine to Louisiana. My hope is that this site will enable all of our family to easily access the research that has been done as well share it with others. Please feel free to contact me at the above address if you need any more information or you have information to share.
