Welcome to our Family Homepage Greetings and I am glad you found us. Since you found your way here, you must be searching someone in our family tree, thus we might be related, so please introduce yourself via email. This work contains the accumulation of information, gathered through the years, of the Rorer/Rohrer Lineage. My Uncle, John Alexander Rorer, did most of the Rorer work years ago, while a professor at The University of Virginia. I transferred this to computer and added updates. I recently have acquired the books “The Rohrer Families” & “The Rohrer Families Supplement”, by Wickliffe B. Neal. These are an astonishing resource for anyone interested in the Rohrer/Rorer/Rorrer (and other spellings) family history.I will be reviewing them in hopes of adding new information.Email me if you need the address to order these books.Thank you Mr. ‘Bud’ Neal for you work. I also owe thanks to the late Donald L. Spidell, whose links I have included, on the Great Palatine Migration, which tells of why and how the original Rohrers left their homeland.I believe Don was the one who established the Rohrer/Rorer Inquires WebPages.Thank you Don for sharing this wonderful work. The Davis Lineage, I started with my cousin Stella E. Davis (1st cousin once removed & my personal family historian) who provided much valuable information and still continues to.I also took a great deal of information from the book, “The History of Doughery County Georgia”, and gathered still more from other relatives. The Honorable William T. Jones (2nd cousin once removed), being a wonderful family asset with his wealth of knowledge. And as far as The Family Tree Maker Website, it provides an immense help.Through my research via the Internet, I discovered a cousin, Joseph T. Fleming (3rd cousin once removed), who had done extensive work on the Davis line. His work unfolded many missing links for me.I have included his links as well. Thank you Joseph, for sharing these wonderful works with the rest of us! I am sure the are errors, as some of the documentation was hand written and hard to figure out the spellings, dates, etc. If you run across any mistakes, please bring it to my attention so I can correct it. I will be adding updates as I gather more information and with the new ability to add photos there will be added as soon as they are scanned.Due to the very nature of this work, it will never be complete, mainly because of the great driving force of good Ole’ Mother Nature! Thanks for visiting and I hope this work will help you in some way. Sincerely, John Davis Rorer PS - I have just published 1st editions of both the Jonathan Davis & John Rohrer family lines complete with family photos and the history of the surnames. If you are interested in either of these wonderful books, please email me. They make wonderful family keepsakes & gifts. |
