This is known from a postcard sent to William by his grandson, Charles

Oral History: According to Charles A. Roswell (grandson), she went by the name "Dora" all her life. He did not find out her first name was Frances until her death. Both her death certificate and her son's death certificate (Charles Gilbert Roswell) lists her middle initial as "T". The 1880 Census lists her name as "Thedora". According to Gilbert F. Roswell (grandson), she was born in a log cabin; he said she gave him a photograph of it. Gil believes she was born in Oscoda, Michigan.

Burial: Death certificate states Mt. Clemens, Detroit. Gil Roswell (her grandson) said she is buried at Clinton Grove Cemetary in Mt. Clemens. However, when Charles A. Roswell (her grandson) went to the cemetary in the 1980's he did not find her listed in Lot 27, which is the family lot purchased by her husband Charles E. Roswell in 1904. Frances may be buried in another part of the cemetary.

- Cause of death: Hyperparathyroidism; Anersia (secondary); Myocardial degeneration; Decalcification of bones and skeleton. Note: The second and third causes were very hard to read. Anersia may be an old spelling of "anergia", the lack of immunity to an antigen. The myocardium is the heart muscle.
