Our main areas of interest are shown below, but this is only a small selection of the names we are looking into :- Rossiter, William Rossiter was born in Rode, Somerset in 1810. He moved to London & died after 1851. We have now chased the line back to James Rossiter born about 1645 in Foxcote, Somerset... that's where the records run out :<( Mitchell, James Mitchell was born around 1740 probably in Northamptonshire He married at Sudbury, Northants in 1765 and died in 1803, but who were his parents ?? Still stuck on this one. Boyle, James John Boyle (aged 21) married Mary Hogan(aged 18) in 1919, they were both from Clonmel in Eire. Jameses father was a James Boyle - a gardener - his mother is not known. Mary's father was Michael Hogan and her mother was Mary Reid. A lucky coincidence has found Mary Hogan's parents and siblings but nothing more is known.... yet Busby, We can trace our Busbys back to James Busby who held a messuage and two tenements in the Oxfordshire hamlet of Tastone in 1710, we believe he was born in 1674, the son of Nicholas Busby (gent) who died in about 1689 in Over Norton, - but from there ? Moorby, Edward Moorby was the Innkeeper of the Twistledon Arms in Broughton in 1812, but where did he come from ?? His parents married in the City of London, why ? Toseland, Samuel Toseland had a son in Isham, Northants about 1812. But where did he come from??? Pomeroy Line now traced back to 1650ish in villages around Holsworthy in Devon, and confirmed by parish records. Gillingham This family found in the St. Pancras area of London, but where did they come from - family tradition says Dorset but who knows? Folland Stacks of info on this family, as yet mainly unconfirmed as they were non conformist, from the village of Great Torrington in Devon back to Dalton in Devon about 1650 - not my research, but comes recommended. Hooker Instant family.. Rootsweb's Bedford list found a fourth cousin in around 3 days, the parish records have been filmed and transcribed by the LDS onto the Familysearch site and I don't live to far from the Bedford Record Office. Progress so far looks good. Aldrige Not much known about this line - yet. Wise From Brigstock in Northamptonshire. Married into the Mitchell family about 1850 - we have the pictures to prove it. This family was in Brigstock for several generations and all I've got to do now is collate the information I've gathered. Clarke From Fenny Stratford in Buckinghamshire to Potterspury in Northamptonshire back to Stony Stratford in Bucks and finally via Neithrop near Banbury in Oxfordshire to Luton in Bedfordshire. And many more Including:- Cleaver, Parsons, Lawrence, Dyer, Gibbs, Thresher, Pittaway, Smith and another lot of Busbys. Dave R.
