For a better future for his family; Morris Kerstein bought a farm in Cranberry Station, New Jersey. When Morris met his wife Jennie and 2 children at Ellis Island, he greeted them, and took them to the farm. Set them up, with food, and said his farewell. He had to go back to New York City to support his family. He commuted on weekends from New York, to the farm. Jennie ran the farm. They took in boarders who came from New York City, and cooked for themselves.

Zalkin, Inc., a rag wiping mill in Omaha.

Hy Rosenblum was one of the greatest advocates the the Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) since its inception. He worked tirelessly to keep the college afloat in its formative years.
His dedication in HVCC was best demonstrated by the fact that in 41 years of service in the school, he never missed attending a graduation ceremony.
In 1995 HVCC dedicated its new Adminstration Center in honor of Hy Rosenblum
