This site traces my known relatives from current day to the 1750's. Although my greatest successes have not been through the Rosen branch I have been provided with several "clues" to the origin of the name. It has been suggested that the Rosens came from Poland. Two brothers, one settling in Pembroke the other much further west. It has also been suggested the surname is from Russia and/or Germany. Whatever the truth I'm yet to discover it. In the mean time should anyone know of any other links to the name Rosen or any other surname in my tree, I would appreciate the information, no matter how small the comment please make the effort to email. Im fascinated with any aspect of Rosen heritage, including why "Rosen Green" is listed as a 1891 census area in Pembroke in 1891. Ok we had a huge number of Rosen's at the time but why name land after us, and does it still exist? Enjoy! Karl Rosen |
