| Our family has descended from Wales, Germany, Ireland, USA, and Russia among many other far away places. Parts of the family were traced back to B.C. While working on our Family Tree, it has been very exciting to learn about the family and how they relate. How the spelling of the names have changed was interesting. Some changed by merely dropping a letter, while others have changed by dropping complete words. The years of birth/death aren't always agreeable. Before the 1950's it made no difference what a child was named. There was no male/female distinctions in the naming of the children. Some of the odder names from back when are...Pleasant, Comfort, Crotchett, Happy,Robinett Robinett, and lots of Biblical names. It is such a joy to be able to present my son with his very extended family and to be able to pass it on to his children and grandchildren. |
