| We have only recently begun this research. After our mother passed away we decided to make scrapbooks of both my father and mother back to their great grandparents. At that point I realized that researching more information would be interesting. So far, we have mostly used Ancestry.com and One World Tree, finding birth and death certificates, census information, and information from other research in One World Tree. Since it is for my nephews and nieces this is also being done, I have also put online time into researching my sister-in-law's and brother-in-laws' families. On some brances I have been able to go back many generations. On other branches, like that of my maternal grandmother, I haven't been able to get too far as I seem to run into a brick wall on information from before they immigrated from Canada and Ireland. (Looking for info on Elias S. Baker, Sr. in Canada and Susan A. Duffy in Canada and her parents in Ireland). We have many individuals we cannot find any (or much) background on, a few being Ida Bettis, Lillian Belle Bourdeaux, and Flora May Switzer (possibly Sweetser). We are also looking to find any corroborating information on the ones we do have: especially Rosenstiel, Gardner, Drouillard, Pare and Bordeaux (Bordeau, Burdo). (Author's Note: I have been unable to work on this for a couple years, due to health problems. I hope to update it in the next year.) |
