Trying to research my familly with the surnames:Roebuck>Carter>Tate from Elberton, Ga. My grandfather,Alfred Roebuck was born 2/1/1861, his father was Dave roebuck, who may have come from Orange County Virginia>So. Carolina in the late 1760's, m. Amy Allen b. 1866.
Alfred had tow wifes: Amy Allen and Vinnie Carter. Alfred was found in Census 6/12/1900,Moss District,Elbert County, Ga. House #260 Dwelling#260.

Alfred had a sister named Elizabeth b. 1885 that migrated to Cleveland d.Cleveland,Oh. Other siblings were Ida,Ella, Mallory, Alvah,Jim and parents were Dave Roebuck m.Rachel Adams.
