THE RUFUS JOE ROSS / VERLEAN SCOTT FAMILY TREE

I began my ancestoral family recearch for this Ross family November 22, 1999. The earliest Ross relative is traced to my grandfather Johnny Ross. He was born in slavery in 1862 (unconfirmed) on the Thompson plantation near Longstreet Louisiana.Johnny married Candrice O'Gilovic and their children are Sammy,Fortson,Gilley,Buleah,Emma, Anderson,and my father John Elmo.
Johnny was buried at the Hogeye (Negro)Cemetary near Longstreet,Louisiana. I visited the cemetary on October 2,1999 and recorded numerous Ross names from gravestones.I am in the process of confirming these names as roots to the family tree. I and will continue to update the tree as new information is obtained.I am soliciting all members fo the Ross family to contact me if you have any information for additions or corrections to our family tree.

We are combining my family tree with my wife's family tree of her father Leon Scott.Information from members of both is requested and will be greatly appreicated.
