My "little" geneology hobby has turned into a bonafide passion that has translated into stacks of papers, how-to pamplets and hours on the computer. I'm learning as I go, so no doubt there are lapses in geneology protocol, but if my data can help anyone with even remote connections I will be delighted. I'll keep working to polish the file but for the present here it is "warts and all".I am researching William C. Fincher, b. abt 1798, in NC, d. 1878, m. Elizabeth CALLOWAY of GA in 1819. According to "Finchers in USA" by Evelyn Fincher, he is believed to be the son of James "of the revolution" Fincher, but proof is scarce. If you have information regarding the father of William C or the offspring of James Fincher, I would love to hear from you. Also, Zadoc Ware, b.cir 1809 and buried in Harmony Cemetery in Nevada Co., AR. He married an Ellen D.___ and they had at least one child, George Washington Ware. I am looking for any information about Zadoc, Ellen D. or George. And finally, I am seeking information about the JARVIS' of Nevada Co., AR. I will be delighted to share any information that I have gathered.

- Ivy Addison Fincher Family Bible, pg 3 (544 KB)
Mary A Fincher and William L. Fincher were unknown until these pages were discovered, probably because they died as infants. The M B Fincher listed on the right is Mark Fincher, Addison & Sally's fourth child and second son, who was married to Ethel Madison.

- Ivy Addison Fincher Family Bible, pg 4 (489 KB)
Family Birth Records. Again, it's so unfortunate that a part of the page is missing and that they used initials for the individuals instead of full names, but using the date of births they are: E B=Beulah;A G=Allie Gertrude; R M=Rufus Marion; M B=Mark;AC=Alva Curtis(Kurt); Sarah Mae(21st,1889)name missing but BD Feb 21,1889; AO=Adra Othella; HM=Harley Mildred. The records of Blanche,Nellie & Clovis were apparently recorded on the missing portion of the page.

- William C. Fincher Homeplace (140 KB)
The original Fincher Homeplace in Nevada Co., AR. The log cabin was enclosed in the new structure at an undetermined time in the past, but the original logs can be seen on the inside.

- Ivy Addison Fincher Family Bible, pg 1 (503 KB)
This page is a photocopy of the Family Records in the Family Bible of Ivy Addison and Sally Ann Bennett Fincher. The Bible was published in 1857.
- Ivy Addison Fincher Family Bible, pg 2 (602 KB)
This information was entered by Sally Ann (Bennett) Fincher. It's regretable that the bottom 1/3 of the pages are missing. I believe the Sarah E is Sarah Etta since the family had a habit of calling the children by their middle names. At her death Sally requested that the Bible be passed down to her grandson, the Rev.Jerry Evans, who was the son of her youngest child Harley Mildred (Fincher)Evans. Bro Jerry pastors the First Baptist Church in Taylor, AR.
