He belonged to Oer Chodesh Anshe Sfard, HBSU and the Carpenters Union. A volunteer usher at the Cleveland Play House, Severance Hall and Cain Park, he also enjoyed gardening and was a naturalist. A native of Cleveland Daniel graduated from East Technical High School. During World War II he served with the U.S. Army amphibious engineering group in the Pacific theater and was part of the first wave to approach the Lindayan Beachhead in the Philippines.
