| Hello! I am doing research starting from my son, so I may get information on both my family heritage and my husband's. On my side, I am mainly interested in the ancestors of Mathew & Molly CORN who came to Virginia in the early 1700's with Mathew's family (from family lore). I have been told they came from Germany, but have no proof as of yet to substantiate the claim. I am also interested in information on the ancestors of John MOORE & Mary Susanna JOETT and of Samuel DALTON & Ann (believed to be a REDD) and of John HANCOCK & Elizabeth MADDUX (spellings vary for this surname). John Moore & Mary Susanna Joett were the parents of Matthew MOORE who married Letitia DALTON, daughter of Samuel & Ann DALTON. John HANCOCK & Elizabeth MADDUX parented Nancy HANCOCK (b 17Feb1760 or 1763) who married Jesse CORN, SR., son of Mathew & Molly CORN. I have been told that, while in Germany, Mathew & Molly spelled their last name "KORN;" however, it has been reported to have been spelled as "CORNE" and "CORNS" as well.Any assistance you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
