Notes for Jonathan Ashworth: On May 12, 1759 Janathan Ashworth received a land grant for a body of land containing 1,875 acres in Lunenburg Co, VA. He paid 5 pounds, ten shellings of "good and lawful" money. Jonathan made his will on November 6, 1759 and bequeathed his son John 200 acres, his son Samuel 300 acres, and his son Isaac 300 acres - all "whereon they now live". He also left 100acres to his grandson Jonathan Abbett, and 100 acres to grandaughter Elizabeth Bruce. He stipulated that "in case the said Elizabeth Bruce should die without air lawfully begotten of her body" the 100 acres would revert to his three sons.
