Jacob Willett of Oyster Bay, Queens County, NY in his will dated April 17, 1722 and proved May 4 1722 appointed his wife Mary and father-in-law James jackson as executors.Nathaniel Townsend signed as one of three witnesses (WNYHS:2:254), Mary (Jackson) Willett born Jan 20 1696-97 survived her husband and mar. (2nd) in 1722-24, as his first wife, Nathaniel Townsend of Jericho, in siad township of Oyster Bay, born Feb 25, 1698-00, died May 22, 1754, a son of James and Audrey (Almy) Townsend of that place (Ency. Amer. Quaker Gen. v.3, 1940, p. 457).The will of the said James Jackson of Flushing, Queens County, NY dated Sept 27 1735, and proved Oct 21 1735, devised 15 pounds each "to Jacob, Steven, and John Townsend, sons of Nathaniel Townsend," and made other bequests to seven daughters by their married names,but no Mary Townsend is among them.Hence she was then deceased (WNYHS:3:181).The will of the said Nathaniel Townsend, dated May 18, 1754, and proved August 30, 1754, named his wife Martha, sons Stephen, John, and Nathaniel and daughters Martha and Almy.He appointed as his executors his brothers-in-law Samuel and Benjamin Doughty, and his son-in-law (i.e., stepson) Richard Willett (FW:387).
