The Hughes of Fort Wayne, IN

This portion of the Hughes clan traces back to Illinois and Indiana in the latter part of the 19th century. We know of a "Judge" Hughes from the middle of the 19th century, but don't know if that was his name or profession.

"Judge" Hughes' grandchildren settled around Fort Wayne, IN. and Ferguson, MO. Clarence Orville Hughes, born in 1890 was a medical doctor in Ferguson, MO. and had sons, grandsons, and greatgrandsons that were also doctors.

Arthur Melvin Hughes settled in Fort Wayne, IN. and had four children, three girls and a boy. Robert James Hughes ran Poe Roofing for thirty years and had six children. All but two have scattered throughout the US. Bob Hughes and Jane remain in the Fort Wayne area.
