Joseph RUHLAND (RULAND) came to America in 1873 with his wife, Francesca SCHMIDT. They settled in,Leroy. Dodge County,Wisconsin. He was born in Austria and she was born in Bavaria. His fathers name was Jacob Ruhland. They had nine children: George,Joseph,John,Louis,Frank,Robert(myGrandfather),Michael,Mary(Zangl)and Herman.
