The Robert Ruiz Arce Family Home Page

I am researching the Ruiz surname out of the Montemorelos, Nuevo Leon, Mexico area. The last record I have is of a Rafael Ruiz born abt 1879 to Jose Maria Ruiz and Quirina Magallanes in Montemorelos. Some of the Ruiz family settled in the Galeana, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, when they came over from Spain. Additional family members also settled in Montemorelos.
I am also researching the Arce surname out of Spain. My records indicate that the Arces I am looking for came out of a small town near Granada, by the name of Durcal. I show a Julian Arce born in 1886 in Montemorelos, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to an Aniceto Arce and Fernanda Debora. Aniceto Arce, according to my records, came over from Spain. I do not know if he was married to Fernanda Debora before he got to Mexico, or whether he married her in Mexico.

La ultima persona de que yo se es Rafael Ruiz nacido cerca de 1879, sus padres fueron Jose Maria Ruiz y Quirina Magallanes. Aquellos ancianos se establisaron en Galeana, NL, cuando se vinieron de Espana. El apellido de mi madre es Arce, con raizes de Durcal, Espana, cerca de Granada. Mi abuelo fue Julian Arce, su padres fueron Aniceto Arce y Fernanda Debora. Aniceto es el que se vino de Espana. No se donde se caso con Debora o si fue en Espana o Mexico.

We had our first family reunion in McAllen, Texas, in the last part of June 2001 and we had a blast! Met lots of people I had never heard of, only by name in my tree. Still lots of info to input, here's hoping I can get it done before the year's out!
