My name is Linda May RUMBLE nee. LEIGHTON and I am the webmaster of this site. If you have any comments or feedback please write to me at lindamayrumble@gmail.com.

This is the first time I have tried to set up a website. Please let me know if you find any errors and any constructive observations would be very welcome.

I cannot take the credit for tracing all the relatives listed here... withoutthe input from several relations, some of whom I have come into contact with while researching, this tree would have been much smaller.

Special thanks then goes out to:
RON HOSKINS who initially did a Hoskins One Name Study;
KAREN DAY nee.Hoskins who embellished Ron's work and contacted me initially via Friends Reunited; more recently another Hoskins relative...
KAREN CHRISTLEY, has corrected some omissions & errors (my assumtions were incorrect!). Karen also provided excellent HOSKINS Family Charts which have enriched the information I already had
THE HOSKINS LINE is the blood line of my Grandmother, DOROTHY MAY HOSKINS.
PETER SWINSCOE (husband of JEAN aka.RUBY RUMBLE) who has devoted many hours during retirement researching The Swinscoe's and The Rumble's which is my husband's blood line.
Lost Cousins found out that my Grandfather's name had been changed from HUTCHINS to LEIGHTON...
The name Leighton is most probably derived from the the Old English word leactun meaning 'Kitchen-garden', however I have been able to confirm that the Leighton name that I have had since birth really is not relevant, as my grandfather was actually born Hutchins - Why the whole family changed their name to Leighton is still very much a mystery to me.
Recent contact with JOAN HAWKSWORTH and her daughter SALLY, (both through PAUL DRAPER) has introduced me to an Aunt I never knew I had... PHYL JOYCE who is the daughter of my grandfather's sister. These contacts are greatly
helping me to establish accuracy in the COLMER side of my Grandfather... Thomas Ptolemy Frederick LEIGHTON formerly HUTCHINS' blood line.
My sister, PAULA LEIGHTON-NEWMAN and SUE MASON nee.Linda Susan Ansell, BOB and MAYLEY CALVERT & JAMES JONES have all helped me to compile the Calvert/Jones Lines of my step-mother Joan CALVERT.
Thanks and acknowledgement again to GENES REUNITED where JIM JONES first contacted Sue & I and where I also came into contact with BOB CODDINGTON who has helped me add the EMMA JANE HOSKINS nee.CODDINGTON branch.
Thanks also to VALERIE SARGENT and ANDREW SARGENT who have helped me with the Sargent line, which is the blood line of the father of my 'Mum' from three months old, Valerie Elsie Churchill nee SARGENT.
Last, but not least ROB COTTERELL who, as Indexer of the Thames Watermen & Lightermen, has provided affidavit proofs for Hoskins and Sargent names.

I have two another Family Tree websites that you might like to visit... The Rumbles, Leighton's and Hokins' Family Tree and The Churchill/Sargent Tree which more truly represents my upbringing experience rather than my bloodline. I was never legally adopted, but was brought up primarily by my father's half-sister and her husband; As relatives of my father, they can be viewed on both sites too - William Samuel Churchill and
Valerie Elsie nee. Sargent.

Feedback is very important to me - please write to me at the above email address.
THANK YOU very much for your interest.
Linda
