This site is dedicated to George Burgess (1829-1905) who kept his own diary, family tree, scrapbook and many other writings - to his descendants who kept and passed down those documents - Grace Russ for filling in many of the gaps missing in the records, and Pat Bang for completing the Australian side of the tree.

For the full tree select the InterneTree under “Family Tree Maker Reports and Trees” below, and follow the on screen instructions – it’s much better than the InterneTree further up the page – It may not be immediately apparent, but the whole tree is there and can be navigated by right clicking an individual and choosing “Make Primary Individual” – You can find out more about any individual by right clicking on them and selecting Details from the pop up menu.

For a full list of surnames in the tree select “Surname List” under “My Family History” – You can also navigate through the tree by clicking on a surname and following the links – If you use this method icons after a name means there are documents to read or photos to view – A tree symbol against a name means you can view the tree from that point.

To navigate the Genealogy reports below(when open)look for numbers to the left of names - to open the next field of text click on the numbers where the mouse pointer changes to a hand.

For detailed family history of individual families visit our alternative site “The Burgess Family History” under “Links” below – Please e-mail me with your views.
