THERE PORT OF ENTRY WAS NEW YORK.THEY THEN HOMESTEADED IN YORK CO NEBRASKA. EARLY FAMILY RECORDS WERE WRITTEN BY MY THIRD GREATE GRANDFATHER GERDS TIEKEN BORN IN THE YEAR 1792. MY SECOND GREATE GRANDFATHER GERHARD TIEKEN BORN IN THE YEAR 1828 BROUGHT THEM WHEN HE CAME TO AMERICA.THE FAMILY BOOK WE NOW HAVE IN OUR POSSESSION WAS UPDATED BY MY FATHERS AUNT HER NAME WAS MATHILDA TIEKEN BORN IN THE YEAR 1900 AND DIED IN IN THE YEAR 2000, HER LAST ENTRY IN THIS BOOK WAS IN 1970. THE BOOK CAME INTO MY POSSESSION IN ABOUT 1985. I HAVE RECENTLY UPDATED IT AND IS CURRENT TO THE YEAR 2000. THIS BOOK WILL NOW GO INTO THE POSSESSION OF MY SON THOMAS, SO THAT IN THE YEARS TO COME HE CAN CONTINUE ON WITH OUR FAMILY LEGACY.
