Notes for A
UGUSTINE BEARSE:

( A few of the facts in the statement below are still in question, most of the dates appear to be inaccurate. This leads me to believe this statement is more fiction than fact. However, I felt compelled to share it anyways, because it is such an interesting piece.)

He committed no crime, but was deported from England at age 20
aboard the "Confidence", which sailed from London in the summer of 1639,
because he was of Romany /Gypsy blood of the tribe of Herne or Heron and
was caught on British soil.
In those days, no Puritan in Plymouth would marry a gypsy because of
religious and racial prejudices, so he courted and married an Indian
Princess in a traditional Indian ceremony at her village. They were given
the best land in Barnstable by her grandfather, and it was held by the
family for three generations without a deed.
He and his wife joined the church in 1650 for the protection thereby
afforded. He was made "freeman" in 1652.

Notes for M
ARY HYANNO:

She was red-headed and fair skinned, a present from visiting Vikings
around 1001 - 1016, who visited Martha's Vineyard Island. The word
"Wampanoag" means "White-Indians". (This is from Narragansett oral
tradition)
She had just reached puberty before her marriage. The marriage was a
powerful factor in preventing Ihyannough and the Cape tribes from
attacking the English colonies.
