| Contained herein is family genealogical information of my wife Diane and I. Specifically, family trees are included for BIGGINS, GERNER/GÖRNER, HEASLIP, RUSING/RÜSING, SHARPLES, WOOD, and VUKOVICH surnames. Also, when available, ancestral information for other related surnames has been provided. A focus of considerable research and information is that of my great-grandfather, FREDERICK LOUIS WOOD, and his two wives (ELIZABETH WILLS LUXTON and CHARLOTTE SUSAN FULLMAN) who had a total of 13 children in Kent, England during the late 1880's. The activities and lives of this family through WWI and immigration to Canada and the United States became quite complex and interesting. Note, however, that much of the media information regarding Frederick L. Wood's sons and wife Charlotte Susan Wood, found in various articles and on the hellfire-corner.co.uk website as "Lady Lost 5 Sons" by Ceris Schrader, has been found inaccurate. Specifically, following research, it has been determined that only two sons perished in WWI versus the alleged five sons. Relatives who contributed to research on the family trees include Jenna Anderson, Brigitta Bergmeier, Cathy Ewen, James Harris, David McCarthy, Keith McGaw, Russell and Lucy Stewart, and John VanOosten. Additionally, special assistance was provided by Canadian researchers Jim Busby and Susan Evans Shaw. Everyones help has been invaluable and greatly appreciated. Any information beyond that already noted, and/or corrections, is welcomed. I am also willing to share the findings that I have. Contact should be made through the email address provide below. |
