I am researching the RUSSO family from Atlantic City County, NJ. My grandfather, Guiseppe Russo, arrived with some of his family in New York on the SS Atler... Aug. 6, 1900. His destination was to live in Hammonton, NJ with his cousin, Frog Cappelli (or Capella). His wife, Catherina Russo, with the rest of the family arrived also in New York on the SS Trave... Aug. 26, 1901 to join her husband. They brought with them 4 daughters... Giovanna, Rosa, Maria, Florna and 2 sons... Samuel, Antonio. My grandfather and grandmother immigrated from a very small town, either Gesso or Castanea, which are only a couple of kilometers from Messina, Sicily. Any information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have. |
