The photographer was Turnbull & Sons, Glasgow, the same one as scan 45. I know of no other connection between these two photos. Her eyes remind me of my grandmother's and one of her sisters. The open case beside the woman may be a clue. There is a possibility that she is in fact one of my grandmother's sisters, Lily Smellie, a medical doctor who was medical officer of health for Glasgow from around 1907 until about the end of WWI, when she went into private practice. She was married 1907 to John Clark who was a professor at Glasgow Univ and from 1919 to 1928 Director of Education, Glasgow School Board.
