We move forward. Alex Wortham, born in 1812, was the Great Grand Patriarch of the West Tennessee branch of the Wortham family. He was listed as a Mulatto in the 1870 Census at age 58 along with wife, Ann Wortham, born in 1820, and 7 children. The place of birth was listed as North Carolina.
