Descendants of Thomas Russel

The following information on the descendants of Thomas Russel, born in 1788 in Loftus, Yorkshire, England spans 8 generations and includes over 2,000 names, 545MB of digitized pictures and documents. This project was started by my grandfather, Henry Stanley Russell in about 1965. My father, Henry Stanley Russell Jr. took over the research in 1985 and when he died in 1991, I inherited the project. After sorting through boxes of handwritten notes, letters, pictures and documents, I realized that this belonged to the whole family. My goals from very early on was to create something more than just names and dates. I was determined to create a format that would be easily shared with all family members. Shortly, our Family Tree will be available for all to view online. A CD is now available with photographs, letters and documents regarding our family history. This is free to any verifiable family member. We are begining to develop an audio CD with family stories, eulogies and interviews with elder family members.

While this is still a work in progress, many families have and still are contributing. These families have been the reason this research is successful. I want to thank you all for your assistance and continued support.
