We are searching for our MARTIN and RUSSELL roots, both from Scots-Irish origins. My ancestor, Samuel MARTIN, lived in Fayette County, PA, before 1800. He married Mary BROWN, daughter of James Brown, a Revolutionary War soldier. Samuel and Mary had had five known sons. My husband's ancestor, Aaron Watson Lynch RUSSELL, was born in South Carolina c. 1830,and owned land in southern Arkansas by 1849. His father's name may have been John Russell. He also was born in South Carolina, according to census records. |
