Notes for Hattie M Miller: Subj: Re: Request Birth Lookup Date: 3/20/03 2:47:19 PM Eastern Standard Time From: lhanks@linkline.com To: Sizlegal@aol.com Hi Becky, I am a volunteer at the Family History Center every Wednesday morning. It never fails! If I have a definite project to do if it is quiet, we get a lot of patrons. We had 9 yesterday and 3 of them had never been to a FHC before. I only had time to find two of the birth records in your list. Will try to do more next time. Fairfield Co., Ohio Birth records Vol. 1 (1867-1877), FHL film # 0963800 Page 170, Recorded May 1873 (the births were recorded once a year) # 559 - Hattie M. Miller, b. 1872 June 30, b. Ohio, Fairfield Co., Lancaster; female, white, Father John Miller, Mother E_dora Miller, Residence 2nd Ward Lancaster, Reported by John Miller. (The mother's first name possibly looked like Esdora or Erdora. The letter after the "E" did not look like a "u" or "n".) (Wasn't sure if this was your Hattie or if there was another John Miller that had a daughter named Hattie born 1872. She was the only one I found.) Page 292, Recorded May 1876 # 641 - Miller, Stella; b. 1876 Jany 26; b. Ohio, Fairfield Co., Lancaster, female, white, Father Miller, John; Mother Hester Miller, Residence 5th Ward, Reported by John Miller. In both cases I checked the lines before and after, and all of the rest of them had the mother's maiden name, not their married name. The FHC has equipment to make photocopies of the microfilm if you are interested. They charge 25 cents per page and it would take 2 pages to get 1 birth record. I don't know if it would be cheaper to get them from the courthouse, knowing which volume and page number you want. Linda Sizlegal@aol.com wrote: > Linda, > Thank you for the kind offer.
