John Coe served in the Civil War in Co. H, 18th Ohio Infantry

from researcher Cheryl Wright gwright@eurekanet.com:
HOWEVER--I had to go over to the university library yesterday to check a few other things, so managed to squeeze in a little Coe research too. First, I looked at census for all the Coe's in York Township in 1860 and found one with a child named Thomas G.:

John Coe (27)
Diadema (25)
Beech (6)
Thomas G. (5)

There was no listing for this family in Athens County in 1870; I did not check 1880.

Next, I checked the estate listing and found two John Coe's--(1) the packet for one (dated 11 November 1842) had a will naming wife Nancy (I DID NOT check my own records, but JUST GUESSING, I'd say Nancy was Nancy Armitage), daughters Elizabeth Weatherbee and Nancy Coe, and sons John Jr., Josiah, George M., Hiram and Wesley. (2) The second John Coe packet had no will but did have an "Application for Letters of Administration" which stated that John Coe of York Township had died on or about 11 January 1910 leaving two sons--John B. Coe of Nelsonville and T. G. Coe of Columbus.

I checked the Greenlawn Cemetery book (York Township) and found entries for:

Dama Coe (2/25/1834 - 11/16/1903)
John Coe (8/25/1831 - 19__)
Melissa Coe (1858 - 1926)
Thomas G. Coe (1854 - 1923)

I'd say the John Coe is the one who died in 1910, father of John B(eech) Coe and T(homas) G. Coe.

"Methodism in Pickerington, Ohio 1812 - 1905", H.E. Brill page 93 - 96
Maryland was the birth-place of Jesse Fishpaw Sr. and of his wife, Elizabeth. to them came the desire to establish a home in far-away Ohio. They came here in or near the year 1810, and located on a piece of land lying a little more than a mile south of Pickerington, and which is now owned by Milton Smith.
Their children were named in order of birth, Louisa, Miriam, Jesse, Mordecai, Elizabeth, Ann, Rebecca, Sarah, and Lourahama. Louise married John McDaniel (they went west where both died); Elizabeth died in early life; Lourahama married James Burnside, and is now his widow and resides in Kenton, Ohio; sketches of the others appear elsewhere.
Jesse Fishpaw Jr., was born in Maryland, July 25, 1810, and came to Ohio with his parents when he was quite young.
March 14, 1841, he was united in marriage with Phoebe Burnside. To them came one child, a son, whom they named Charles, and who now lives in Reynoldsburg. His wife was a member of our church, and died in the faith a few years after marriage. She was buried at Pickerington.
May 2, 1850, he again married, the bride being Sarah L. Woodruff, and the ceremony being preformed by Rev. Richard Pitzer at the home of the bride's parents.
Brother Fishpaw began housekeeping at Pickerington; later he moved to the farm now occupied by his widow, and lying just eas of Violet Chapel. His first purchase was eighty acres, and to this he added from time to time until he owned about htree-hundred acres at his death.
He was for many years a member here, and remained in that relation till his death, which occurred May 4, 1881. His funeral service was in charge of Rev. D. S. Porter, and he was buried at Pickerington.
