George was an apprentice to Mr. Robert Galt of Whitby aforesaid for the erm of Six years. He was Master of the ship MARY ANN for one voyage; owned by Mr. Thomas Callender. He and crew were lost on her voyage from Whitby to Sunderland & to Wisbean in March 1822. He was also Master of
the AMITY belonging to Mr. James Naslor and the EAGLE belonging to Mr. Goerge Stonehouse, both of Whitby and he has been Master of other ships.(1)
