I have just started to research into our family history and came across some information on the web which linked our families. You have information about the Dunnings and we have links to this family - Constable Stapleton Dunning who was married to Margaret Browm in 1790). Elizabeth/Eliza Dunning (1775-1825) married John Cassap, their daughter Eliza Mary Cassap (1831-1867), sister to Thomas Dunning , Constable, John and William Cassap, married George Reed Ellison in 1854 and had the following children - Margaret, Elizabeth Cassap, George Reed, Eliza Mary.

Eliza Mary Ellison married my husband's great grandfather, James Hill

Constable was probably lost at sea since no butial record was found, but
his widow, Margaret (Brown) Dunning applied for aid to Trinity House on
27 July, 1809 with Petition #1444-C, dated 25 Oct. 1810. Margaret was
buried 02 Dec. 1810.
He was forty-two years old and bred to the Sea and served as Master of
the Ship ADVENTURE, 3 years; and Master of the COMMERCE 3 years; and
Master of the WILLIAM & MARY 3 Years; and was likewise Master of the
several Ships SPRING TRAVELLER, MARINER and MARIA each several years and
lastly Master of the Ship EAGLE.
Margaret mentioned four children but not by name. They were probably:
Constable, Elizabeth, Benjamin & Margaret.
Some of the signers of the petition were RICHARSON, LYMAN & CHILTON.[Sweetone.FBK.FBK.FTW]

Given to us by the Warden of the church who had a beard and a bit of a
Scottish accent. The stones in cemetery were first copied by a man who
used his own shorthand. He died before he could transcribe his notes.
A lady retired from Diplomatic Corp. moved to Whitby and was able to
break his code and transcribe his writing.[Sweetone.FBK.FBK.FTW]
