Notes for Susan Mcgill: [John C. POTTS & Descendants.FTW] Susan became a gatekeeper after the death of Lewis, in 1880. (1)(2) Lewis had been a shoemaker, farmer and gate keeper on the Columbus and Harrisburg Pike.(2)(3) Will and Codicil thereto of Susan Hudleson, Deceased. Wednesday, September 26 1900. This day an instrument of writing purporting to be the Last Will and Testament . . . be filed in this Court . . in Montgomery Tp. in this county . . .admit the same to Probate . . notice to next of kin . .there being no widoweer . . . in three days at 1:00PM. Journal No. W(?) P. 152(?) Monday October 1 A.D. 1900 . . . on the Twenty-sixth day of September A.D. 1900 . . the Last Will and Testament and Codicil . . . of Susan Huddleson was produced in open Court for Probate . . . on this day came E. E. Corwin and Nora F. Wilson two of the subscribing witnesses to said Will, . . . testified to the due execution of said Will . . . testified to the due execution of said Will . . . be entered of record in this Court. WILL OF SUSAN HUDDLESON: In the name of the Benevolent Father of all, I Susan Huddleson, of the city of Columbus, County of Franklin and State of Ohio do make and publish this my last Will and Testament. Item 1st: I desire that all my just debts . . . by my Executrix. Item 2nd; I give and devise a legacy of . . . the following four grandchildren . .. Norman C. Peters, Lewis H. Peters, Ada G. Nickols, and Helen M. Clime, who is the adopted daughter of Helen(?) If either of said legatees should die without heirs of their body, I desire that the share of same, shall be divided equally between my daughters Anna E. Huddleson and Helen G. Grimm, their heirs, or to the survivor of the two, if either should die without heirs(?) Item 3rd: I desire that after all my debts have been paid as per item 1st, and said legacies ahve been paid as per Item 2nd, that the residue of my property, amounting to about two thousand dollars ($2000.00) shall be divided between my two daughters Anna G. Huddleson and Helen G. Grimm, as follows: the said Anna G. Huddleson, two hundred dollars ($200.00) more than amoiety of the said residue, the balance to go to said Helen M. Grimm, or to the heirs of their bodies. But should said Anna E. Huddleson die without heirs prior to my decease, I desire that the amount that would have gone to her had she survived me shall be divided equally between the following named person, or their heirs, or the survivor or survivors thereof, should any die before I do and without heirs, to wit: Lewis H. Peters, Horace L. Dawson and Philip W. Fogle. Item 4th: I do hereby nominate and appoint my said daughter Helen M. Grimm, executrix of this my last will and testament . . . I have hereunto set my hand and seal this eight day of January in the year of our Lord 1890. Susan Huddleson. Signed and acknowledged by said Susan Hudleson . . in our presence: E. E. I do hereby change Item 2nd of my Will . . as follows: to pay to Ada G. Nichols . . . the sum of _______ . . . to each of the following named persons: Norman C. Peters, Lewis H. Peters and Helen M. Clime $25.00, but if either of said last three grandchildren should die before I do . . . without heirs at law, I desire that their share or shares shall go to my daughter, Helen M. Grimm, or to her heirs at law. After my debts have been paid, as per Item 1st of my Will and also said legacies to my four grandchildren, that the residue of my estate shall be divided equally between my two daughters, Helen M. Grimm and Anna E. Huddleson, but if Anna E. does not survive me, I desire that my executor shall pay out of her share to my grandchild, Phillip W. Fogle the sum of $100.00 and the balance of said estate or share of said Anna E. is to be paid to my said daughter Helen M. or her heirs. I do hereby nominate and appoint Edwin E.
