I am searching the Edward J. Rutledge family of Poe, Nicholas Co. WV He first appeared in the 1850 census as a nephew of Frances Duffy. By the 1860 census he was married to Frances Eades and had 6 children. One of his sons was Edward Hugh, who was my grandfather. In the 1880 census Edward Hugh was using the name Hugh Rhodes, later he returned to using Edward Hugh Rutledge.
Edward J. was killed in the civil war battle of Cedar Creek VA in 1864. I need help connecting this person with some of the other Rutledges' who appear in other counties, specifically a William of Nicholas Co. in 1830 census. Also a James and a Thomas of Kanawha Co. -1860 census.
