I have been researching my grandfather's family for a long time. His name is Thomas Shaw Patterson born in October 23 of 1896 in Chicago, Illinois. He married Frances Louise Kennedy. They had 3 children and moved to Saratoga, California in 1932. He inherited property in Saratoga, Calfornia from his uncle Sheldon P. Patterson a retired Chicago newspaper editor. His father is Charles Austin Patterson and his mother is Julia Elizabeth Shaw.

I have found quite a bit about his paternal side from a distant cousin. I am struggling to find information about his maternal side. What I do know is that his materanl grandparents names. They are Dr. Thomas Jefferson Shaw and Elizabeth Donaly. They had a son D. Lee Shaw who married Florence D. Cook. Both Thomas J. Shaw and Lee Shaw were M. D.s Lee and Florence Shaw had only one son, named Lee Shaw. Florence Cook's father's name is Charles E. Cook Lee and my grandfather, Thomas S. Patterson were 1st cousins. They lived next door to my grandfather who was an only child. This cousin was close to my grandfather - like brothers since they were both onlys. We have no idea what happened to this side of the family.

I am also having trouble finding information on my grandmother, Frances Louise (Kennedy)Patterson who was married to Thomas S. Patterson, Sr. Her parents are William Elliot and Louise (Pratt) Kennedy. William and Louise Kennedy had raised Frances as their own child. They were her aunt and uncle.

I would love to exchange information with anyone who may have information on any of these people.
