Welcome and thanks for visiting! I have enjoyed this obsession for only a year now and already have made great strides. I wish us all continued success!
I am researching paternal lines: Alexius/Sulfstede/Losch. All originate in Germany. Great-great grandfather, Guido Cintio Alexius born Prussia Province Germany, 1846. Settled in Baton Rouge, LA and New Orleans areas.

Also researching maternal lines: Nielsen/Smith/Crow. Nielsen line originates from Island of Fyn, Denmark. Immigrated to Chicago in 1888, eventually moved to Milwaukee area.

Smith/Crow is the mystery! Great great grandfather, Levi Crow, purchased land in St. Tammany parish, LA in 1882. Great great grandfather, James "Texas Jim" Smith purchased St. Tammany land in 1891. Having difficulty finding records beyond that. 3rd Ggrandfather, Jason Smith, rumored to have married Sitting Bull's daughter. Also said that the "Crow" name came from Native American Crow tribe connections. Both of those stories so far, unsubstantiated as is the story that there was a Senator Crow of Louisiana who is also an ancestor.

Any questions or info would be most welcome. I am willing to share what I know so far. After all, we are ALL connected!
