I have been searching for my relatives that came from Ireland. Through some great people I have been blessed with finding my origins through my information and a great abundance of people I have emailed and found to be a distant cousin.

Through these resources I have found that the REDGATE'S/RUDGATE/RIDGATE in my family were from Aughil, Magilligan Parish, County Derry. The first traced Redgate married a James MC NALLY and she was Jane Redgate. Through this contact I have found that Jane Redgate is a very distant great great aunt. Her brother, Andrew Redgate, is my family's Redgate that came over from Ireland. So although I have quite an abundance of names now, there are many Redgate's who came in at New York, Philadelphia, and some to Canada and in some way all may be related. I would love to find if there is any distant relations through them.

My Redgate's, William (many), Margaret, Andrew,John, Maria/Mary, Ann, Mary, Nellie (Ellen), Kate (Catherine), James, Kathy (James Daughter), Michael, Paul, one I only knew as Binker, Alice nee Ryan, Bobby (Barbara) and many others, came over in the mid 1800's, one as early as 1833, and some were originally in Philadelphia and then later went to eastern PA in Carbon County in the Boroughs of Lansford, Lehigh, Summit Hill and Mauch Chunk (now known as Jim Thorpe)

Another part of my family are the MALLOY's/MALOY/MOLOY. I found through another distant cousin that her great great grandfather Jerome CARR, married the sister of my great great great grandfather, John Malloy/Maloy/Moloy.

The Malloy's/Maloy/Moloy came over from Glenties Ireland in Donegal, Ireland There were also several brothers who came over together. I am not sure yet if there were also sisters and if so which did come over. The Malloy's/Maloy/Moloy also came to same Bouroughs as the Redgates and came off the ship in Philadelphia when they first came over here.

A third directly related part of my family are the GALLAGHERS and the DOUGHERTY'S. Condy (Cornelius)Gallagher married Anna Elysia WHALEN and they in turn had my grandmother, Fannie (Frances) Gallagher who married my grandfather William Redgate and they had Mary Redgate RYAN and Anne Redgate LUXNER. Of course there are many others and I am still working on my history.

Feel Free to contact me if you are familiar with any of the following names: Malloy, Maloy, Moloy, Redgate, Ridgate, Rudgate, Gallagher, Carr, McNally, Dougherty, Sweeney, McDish, Kennedy, Boylan, Coyle, Boyle, Ryan or Luxner.
