| Rope-Pulley Association, Sydney, NSW, Australia. John Michael Tobin RYAN married Mary Rope, daughter of Anthony Rope and Elizabeth Pulley, and I am a 5th Generation descendant of his. James Tobias {known as Toby} was his son and probably the most prominent and succesful member of the family, which has a close association with horses, sailing boats and land owning, in NSW. I wonder about U.S connections. There is an "uncle" whose name was George Washington RYAN...?? I have an Australian connection who is married to a native-born US citizen and they live in CA half the year and NSW, Australia the rest of the time. So there could be/must be others, further back. My genealogy is not complete at this time, but when it is, anyone looking to reverse my search and who is looking for connections in Australia or NZ may find it of use. |
