The Ryans of central Illinois

I have just started researching my family tree (December 1999) but have already found out some interesting information. I hope to find relatives in Ireland because I would love to visit there. Several members of my family have started family tree research but I don't know of anyone that has made it past my great-grandfather.

My grandfather was Thomas F. Ryan, Sr. who was born September 20, 1885. He married Mary A. Gilligan, born June 4, 1887. They had 8 children (4 boys, 4 girls). One of the children is my father, James Joseph Ryan.
