|Simon Aherne married Ellen Flanagan about 1809. Their grand daughter married the grandson of Patrick O'Connell of Ballymore in 1882.

iv. SIMON AHERNE, b. March 15, 1850.

MARY AHERNE married MICHAEL O'CONNELL January 15, 1882, son of PATRICK O'CONNELL and MARGARET BARRY. The marriage certificate indicated that her father Simon Ahern, a farmer of Ballydaniel was still living. She died April 7, 1930 in Cobh, Co. Cork. Their children were:
i. BRIDGET O'CONNELL, b. January 18, 1883, Queenstown, Co. Cork; died of flu October 17, 1918, Southampton, England.
ii. MARY O'CONNELL, b. November 13, 1884; Baptism: November 15, 1884, Queenstown, Co. Cork She reared Elizabeth and Michael Hackett, the children of her deceased sister Bridget. Died February 6, 1948, Cobh, Co. Cork.
iii. MARGARET O'CONNELL, b. April 22, 1887, DOB ?; d. November 2, 1918, Queenstown, Co. Cork. Baptism: April 24, 1887, Queenstown, Co. Cork . Aunty Maggie died of the flu. She had gone over to Enland to be with her sister, Bridget who also died in the epidemic.
iv. ELLEN O'CONNELL, b. April 28, 1889; d. August 10, 1974, Kenmore NY. Baptism: May 1, 1889. Emigration: 1908 Occupation: 1908, Sister, Daughters of Namur. Sr. Mary Edith taught in parochial schools in Buffalo, Lockport and Binghamton NY and Lowell Mass. She is buried in the Sister's plot at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Kenmore. Her nephews, Neil and Michael O'Keeffe of Cold Springs attended.
v. HANNAH O'CONNELL, b. June 30, 1891, Queenstown, Co. Cork; died November 11, 1982.
vi. AGNES O'CONNELL, b. February 27, 1893; d. January 16, 1979. Married to Tom Stanton

BRIDGET O'CONNELL born January 18, 1883 married JAMES HACKETT son of THOMAS HACKETT and ELIZABETH KENEALY of Queen Street on March 25, 1913 James Hackett was baptised on February 6, 1879. Their children were:
i. ELIZABETH HACKETT, b. October 26, 1914, Itchen, Southampton; married JOHN RYAN, June 5, 1944, St. Colman's Cathedral Cobh. Chidren: Patrick, John and Breda.
ii. MICHAEL HACKETT, b. April 2, 1916, Itchen, Southampton; died November 1985, London; married BARBARA RICHARDS. Parents of Roger Hackett.
ELIZABETH O'CONNELL was born February 2, 1897, and died December 3, 1971 in New York . She married CORNELIUS O'KEEFFE,14 Lower Main Street Kilfinane, Co. Limerick. Con was a widower and he had one son Michael who was reared by his uncles prior to being taken to USA. Their children were: MARY O'KEEFFE, NEIL O'KEEFFE and KATHLEEN O'KEEFFE, b. 1943; married JEROME PAUL BATTLE, September 12, 1964, St. Simon Stock Church, 182 Street & Ryer Avenue, Bronx, NY..
