What started out as a conversation with my father Raymond Walker in the 90's about his family and the fact he had no idea about his own father led me on my genealogy quest. In the last 15 or so years I have discovered many new members of the family, found my Father's family, discovered new cousins and made many friends. The information on these pages has been verified via birth, marriage and death certificates, censuses copies and trips to the archives, churches and graveyard.
I have made contact with Crookston relatives in America, Walker's in Australia, Nugent's in Canada and many other's dotted around the British Isles. Many people have been essential in putting together this family history and there are too many to list, they know who they are.
My family tree includes the names, Walkers, Baldrys and Howells from Norfolk to Newcastle. Pepper's from Ireland to Thornaby, Yorkshire. Crookston's from Scotland to South Shields. Ryder's from Shanghai, China, to Stockton-on-Tees. McIlvennys, McLaren's, McGarrity's and Nugent's from Ireland to Stockton-on-Tees and Thornaby. The Andersons, Beveridges, Cains, Dalls, Derbys, Fernies, Forsyth, Forrests, Gardners, Hamiltons, Herries, Hughes, Huggan, Inglis, Kings, Lauders, Little's, Marshalls, Martins, Murdocks, McGills, Ross, Robertsons, Sandersons, Shields, Stobos, Somervilles, Thurstons, Watts, Weightman.
Many of the above family's come from all across the British Isles. I may have been born in England, but have roots in Ireland, Scotland and England and would like to think of myself as truly British.
