Hello! For about 10 years I have been searching/researching information on the families listed. It seems we arrived during or shortly after the Revolutionary War and setteled in South West Virginia. The Gilbert's can be found initially in Patrick County, Virginia and soon after the Civil War, my branch moved to Smyth County, Virginia. Other than Gilbert, the Fulcher name is associated through Jane Fulcher Gilbert, wife of John Gilbert. John and Jane's son James M. Gilbert married America Holmes of Saltville, Va. Another branch of my family is the Flummer, Wingo, Abshire (Absher) Harvey Family of Tazewell County, Virginia. Maternally, I am researching the Hackneys, John and Jane (Vail?) of Russell County Virginia. John was a Revolutionary War vetran. He enlisted in the Deleware Blues, in New Castle Deleware, as a Fifer.I am interested in sharing and receiving information on these Families |
