The Ryman/Decker Family

Updated May 13, 2002

Richard L. Ryman

I am researching the Ryman, Decker, Leslie, Cramer, Shelton, Pickett and Land families, among others.
The Rymans are from Sweden, by way of Germany, apparently, and came to the United States with the last name of Danielson.
The Deckers lived in Illinois, near Golconda, before moving to Fulton County, Ark., just before the Civil War.
The Leslie family lived in Wood County, Ohio, before the Civil War. Conrad Leslie was captured by the Confederates in 1863 in the fighting near Knoxville, Tenn., and died at or near Andersonville prison the following year.
The Cramer family was from New York and the Sheltons from Mt. Vernon, Ill., and perhaps Tennessee before that. The Picketts were from Alexandria, Tenn., and James Edward Pickett enlisted in the Union army during the Civil War.
The Land family moved from Virginia after the American Revolution to South Carolina, Georgia, possibly Alabama and then Ravenden Springs, Ark.

That is a brief synopsis. I am looking for additional information and will share what I have.
