| I am researching the surnames Sage and Trescott, in the U.S. Earliest indications for the name Sage is a reference to David Sage, born in Wales, in 1639, who settled in Middletown, Connecticut, in 1652. More recently (late 1700s and 1800s), "my" Sages settled in Western Pennsylvania, mainly Washington (Washington Co.), PA. Grandfather, Frank H. Sage lived in Washington, PA, then worked in Alvy, WV in the late 1800s, before moving back to Washington. The Trescott connection is grandmother, Lola G. and great grandfather Isaac Trescott, of Ohio. Knowledge of any references would be helpful. I'm willing to share what I already have. |
